2020 is an exciting year for all of us at the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce as we are now the only independent professionally led Chamber of Commerce in Saratoga County.

With offices in Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs, our volunteer leaders, led by Kevin Hedley, of Hedley & Company, in Clifton Park, and our professional staff, led by President Todd Shimkus, we believe membership in the Saratoga County Chamber is an investment in the future built on our 102 year history of success. The Saratoga County Chamber has long been Saratoga County’s Tourism Promotion Agency.

Led by Vice President for Tourism Annamaria Bellantoni, we’ve helped create a worldwide brand that attracts millions of visitors and new residents all four seasons of the year. In 2019 for instance, demand for hotels in Clifton Park, Malta, and Wilton was up 15.4% versus 2018. Liz Roggenbuck, Vice President for Programs and Benefits, is leading our efforts in Southern Saratoga County. She created a Non-Profit Fair at the Clifton Park Halfmoon Public Library. She’s organizing a Valentine’s Day promotion of our members with Cliftonpark.com.

She’s hosting networking and educational events, at 30 Park in Clifton Park; the Hyatt Place in Malta; and DeCrescente Distributing in Mechanicville. We have the largest social media following of any chamber in the region. Richard Snyder, Vice President for Communications, is a content machine producing, posting and sharing photos and videos promoting our members on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Our Saratoga County Restaurant Week online sweepstakes, last March, garnered more than 20,000 entries benefitting participating restaurants. Our Veterans Business Council, which has been my honor to facilitate, helps Saratoga County’s 17,000 Veterans to find jobs, start businesses and to learn new skills.

Our Leadership Saratoga Alumni Association, led by Kathleen Fyfe, our Vice President for Community Development, provides 500 volunteers to 140 local nonprofits. Liz Roggenbuck and I are also proud to be creating one of the most inclusive and engaging chamber governing bodies anywhere. Our Twin Bridges Council, chaired by Terry Hamlin of Merchant Pro Express, is inviting all members to participate. Those who show up will decide what actions our Chamber takes.

That’s why 2020 is an exciting time to be a member of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. Visit www.saratoga.org to learn more or give us a call at 518-584-3255.
