Saratoga County Fair Board President Tammy Ballestero, on right, looks determined to saw her way out of captivity during the “quarantine” imposed on Fair leaders as they sought monetary support for the new grandstand project.  She is joined by board member Colleen Luke and 2020 Saratoga County Fair Queen Ella Wolfe.  Thankfully they found a better way to end the quarantine, as donations poured in and they were able to leave that evening….through the gate.

Ballston Spa, NY - A month ago we spoke of farmers markets galore in southern Saratoga County, and if you haven’t gotten to one yet you really are missing out.  There have been ribbon cutting celebrations, food, crafts, baked goods, plants and, in the case of Waterford, live entertainment right at the docks.  This will continue all summer long throughout the area.

On Father’s Day, Sunday June 20 from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. the annual “Sundae on the Farm” will return with a special “drive through” edition held at Mill Creek Farm, located at 1019 County Road 70, Stillwater, NY. It is owned and operated by Anne Morgan, Michael Morgan, Samantha Little, and in memory of Tim Little.

Area farmers will collaborate to put on a great display with audio recording which attendees can enjoy from their vehicles.  There will be dairy and beef cattle, meat sheep, horses and farm equipment, and a Golden Horseshoe Hunt!

Saratoga County is all about the dairy industry (if you don’t believe so, just stop at a local Stewart’s!!)   As such, King Dairy and Stewart’s Shops are donating ice cream coupons for all attendees (while supplies last). They can be redeemed at any Stewart’s or King Dairy location.

Sundae on the Farm is free, fun and family-friendly, the perfect place to bring dad to celebrate Father’s Day, have fun and learn something about our local agriculture industry in the process.  For details contact Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County at (518) 885-8995.

The Saratoga County Fair board and staff have been working hard to get ready for an abbreviated but still fun-filled event schedule this July 22-25, 2021.  They also are in the middle of a big fundraising campaign to build a new Grandstand to replace the old one that had to be removed for safety reasons just before the COVID-19 crisis hit.  They are holding events periodically to ensure that sufficient money is raised to meet a matching grant that will go a long way towards ensuring that new Grandstand becomes a reality.  For more information visit or call (518) 885-9701.
