SHEN GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP: The Shenendehowa Lady Plainsmen Volleyball Camp will take place Monday, August 12 through Friday, August 16. The camp will take place in the White Gym of Koda Middle School and the Green Gym of Gowana Middle School.

Volleyball Program is from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Beginning players will learn the fundamental skills of the sport – passing, serving, setting, and hitting. They will practice team defense, serve receive, basic team rotations, and transition. Players entering 4th grade and up are welcome! Advanced players will increase their proficiency and execution of individual skills and will also be challenged to improve their play within a team. They will focus on running a fast tempo offense, individual and team defense, aggressive serving techniques, transition, and serve receive.

BASEBALL CAMP: The Sports Barn / Hayner Academy will be conducting a variety of specialized and all-skills baseball camps this summer beginning July 1-2 with an Advanced Hitting Camp for ages 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon at The Sports Barn.  Other camps being offered are a Weekly Advanced Baseball Hitting Day on Wednesdays July 10, 17, 24 and 31 for ages 10-13 (8:30-10:30 a.m.) and ages 13-17 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.); a Summer Baseball “Body Recovery” Program with Skidmore Pitching Coach Mike McFerran on July 8, 17, 22 and 29 for ages 13-18 (4 to 5 p.m. ); a Weekly All-Skills & Arena Ball Day on Thursdays July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1 (9 to 11 a.m.); a Weekly Catcher Training Day with Norm Hayner on Wednesdays July 10, 17 and 24 for ages 10-12 (2 to 3:15 p.m. ) and ages 13-17 (3:15 to 4:30 p.m. ; an All-Skills Baseball Camp August 5-9 and August 19-23 for ages 7-13 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a half day option); a Late Summer Catching School for players transitioning to the bigger field with Norm Hayner August 19 and 21 for ages 12-14 and August 20 and 22 for ages 10-12 (3:15 to 4:30 p.m.).

SKIDMORE COLLEGE BOYS BASKETBALL CAMPS: July 8-12 and July 22 - 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon on Friday at Skidmore College Williamson Sports Center with Camp Director and Thoroughbred’s head men’s basketball coach Joe Burke.

The camp is designed to teach and develop basketball skills. It includes learning the fundamentals,  group lecture sessions, team practices, and league games. Players will be evaluated and placed on teams on the basis of strength, size and  ability to ensure a fun-filled, competitive experience.

SOFTBALL CAMP: The Sports Barn / Hayner Academy will be conducting its annual Miss Shen Junior Softball All-Skills Camp July 8-12 from 8:30 a.m.  to noon for ages 7-12 at the Clifton Park Commons Complex. The camp is open to players from all communities. To register go towww.missshen.org.

DOG POUND LINE CAMP: July 15 to 18 on the Shenendehowa Athletic Fields, oopen to offensive lineman, defensive lineman, tight ends and defensive ends seventh-grade and up from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Players will need to provide helmets, shoulder pads, cleats and mouthpiece. First day registration begins at 6 a.m.

The program directors include Don Mion and Mark McQuade and provide a lineman drills and critique on the necessary fundamentals in offensive and defensive play.

Cost is $125 per camper to pre-register, $135 day-of registration, $100 per camper with five from teh same school.

SHEN SUMMER TENNIS CAMPS: Open to junior tennis players July 1st thru Aug. 1 at the High School East tennis courts located on the Shenendehowa campus.

The camp offers one-week sessions for players five- to 10-years old from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 11- to 17-year-old players from 10:30 a.m. to noon each week.

The camp offers two-week sessions for high school level players as follows: Morning sessions from 9 to 10:30 a.m. July 8 to July 18 and July 22 to Aug. 1. Evening sessions are held from 4 to 6 p.m. July 8 to 18 and July 22 to Aug. 1.

SHEN VOLLEY FUTURES FALL CLINIC: The Shen Girls Volleyball Program will host its annual Volley Futures Clinic the following Mondays this Fall:  Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30. ADIRONDACK THUNDER HOCKEY CAMP: The Adirondack Thunder will host a summer hockey camp at Cool Insuring Arena this summer led by Thunder head coach Alex Loh and assistant coach Pete Dineen Aug. 26-30. There will be three sessions each day with skating, shooting and stick-handling training, guest speakers and controlled scrimmages. Breakfast and lunch is included. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-12.
